Youth Internship Programme

Prosperity Foundation’s Youth Internship Programme aims to raise the capacity of university-age youth to contribute meaningfully to the progress and development of their communities, while pursuing higher education or work.

The programme is shaped by the belief that an individual’s spiritual and intellectual growth occurs when they take action to contribute to the transformation of society. These two aspects of our purpose – individual and social transformation – are interlinked. One can not be achieved without the other. Therefore, Interns carry out action in the community through facilitating various empowerment programmes for their younger peers. Tuakana / Teina is at the heart of the programme. With the support of an assigned adult mentor, interns benefit from close advice and accompaniment as they begin to go about vocational training, tertiary studies, or work. The programme offers a curriculum which enriches the approach which interns take to all aspects of a coherent life – service, family, education, work, marriage, and so on. Interns are awarded a small scholarship to assist with financial obligations associated with higher education and community service.
